ABOUT us

Myrn at one of our pianos

Myrn
Myrn is our founding teacher here at Corban Music Studio, and she brings to our school a wealth of knowledge and experience from her years working as a teacher and traveling the world. Holding a music teaching LTCL degree from Trinity College from London, England, Myrn also did post-degree studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Canada.

While living in India with her husband, a missionary-teacher, Myrn served on the music faculty at Spicer Memorial College in Poona, India. Once she returned to America, Myrn served for many years as Syllabus Chair for Portland East in Portland, OR, which is part of the Oregon Music Teachers Association.

On a daily basis Myrn offers her students the opportunity to achieve their goals in a warm environment - by offering lessons that both challenge and encourage growth. Her students are active in many music festivals, including state exams through OMTA as well as community churches and schools.

John Jr.

He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Walla Walla University in Washington State. Soon after graduation, John received his teaching certification from Portland State University.

With over 20 years of teaching experience, John Jr. compliments Myrn's skills, as they both offer top-quality lessons to each of their students.
